The 40th Great Annual Book Sale will take place October 21-29 in the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library auditorium. This significant fundraiser has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Library over the past four decades. It has also recycled closed to a million books back into the community to readers of all ages who eagerly anticipate the event each fall.
Vintage, new, nearly new and used paperbacks, hardcovers, talking books, music CDs, DVDs, puzzles and games will be available for sale over nine days. A limited number of $15 tickets are now available for the Library Member Preview Sale, happening Sunday, October 21 from 2:00 to 5:00pm. The book sale will open to the public at 9:30am Monday October 22 and continue during regular library hours to Monday, October 29. Saturday, October 27 and Sunday October 28 will be half price days. Monday, October 29, until 8:00pm, will conclude the event with an amazing 2 Bucks-a-Bag sale. As always, more books will be added each day.
Carolin Brooks, Public Services Assistant at the Library, says, "This is our biggest fundraiser at the Library. We thank the community for their generous donations throughout the year and ongoing support of this important event for four decades."
