Grey Bruce Health Services (GBHS) and the community group Neighbourwoods North, are inviting the public to attend a plaque unveiling this Saturday, at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital to commemorate and recognize the many volunteers who helped turned a 7 acre empty field into an urban forest.

Over several months this year over 3,000 trees and seedlings were planted by volunteers on the hospital property. The new forest is made up of a variety of species including crab apple, cedar, pine, and spruce.

The plaque unveiling will take place outside of the hospital, across from the Emergency Department entrance. If it is raining, the event will be held inside the Cafeteria, on Level 1, beside Tim Hortons.

All members of the public are welcome to attend. Parking is free.
