During the month of November the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre has partnered with the Sweet Grass and Thistles group based out of the Presbyterian Church in Southampton, along with the Wesley United Church on Saugeen First Nation to create and deliver “Bimaadziwin Workshops”.
Bimaadziwin means ‘the good path’; the Bimaadziwin Workshops will teach you more about Anishinaabe Culture and will explore themes of Truth and Reconciliation. These workshops, which are led by Marilyn Roote, will provide the opportunity for participants to learn Anishinaabe language skills as well as create an art project related to experiences of Residential School Survivors. The ‘Bimaadziwin Workshops’ takes place on November 17 at 1:00 p.m. and on November 24 at 1:00 p.m. The cost to attend workshops are $20 plus HST for both dates and $12.00 plus HST for one date.
The BCM&CC is open daily Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and invite everyone to take a journey through this newly renovated gallery to learn more about the history of Bruce County. All of the details on this exhibit and programming online at brucemuseum.ca.
