A Grade 10 OSDSS Academic History class, recently completed a unit on 1920's and 30's Canadian History. Among the sub units of study the students learned about was: The Development of Organized Sport; with Local Connections. Students in this photo are wearing reproduction NHL jerseys from the time period of 1919-1939; which come from their teacher's: Mr. Jeff Carmichael's personal collection for a fashion show they staged; to finalize group studies.
Also featured on this day were authentic collectibles of former NHL players/Owen Sound Hall of Famers: "Hap" Day, "Butch" Keeling, and Benny Grant; who all played for the Toronto Maple Leafs during this time period.
A pair of goalie pads also from teacher Jeff Carmichael's personal collection with ties thought to be from Benny Grant were also show cased for the class.
