Sydenham Bruce Trail Club and Grey Roots Museum and Archives partner in offering a snowshoe adventure for the whole family on Family Day, Monday, February 18, 2019. Everyone is welcome to explore Moreston Village by snowshoe. Meet at Grey Roots between 11am and 3pm with your enthusiasm, outdoor gear, and snowshoes. Some snowshoes will also be available for loan. Outings will run hourly starting at 11:30am.
“Getting outdoors and active is a priority for many families, especially when lives are consumed by busyness and screentime,” says Frank Schoenhoeffer, Sydenham Club President. “Sharing adventures in nature is also a wonderful intergenerational activity, a way to connect with youngsters in a fun and learning environment. Snowshoeing together strengthens family bonds, and teaches healthy exercise. We invite you to come play in the snow with us!”
Located just south of Owen Sound on Grey Road 18, Grey Roots Museum & Archives features exhibit galleries, archives, and Moreston Heritage Village, a ten acre living history site. Regular Grey Roots admission rates apply – see www.greyroots.com for details.
The Sydenham Club does outreach work to increase awareness about the Bruce Trail, to add to our volunteers and membership, to encourage outdoor adventure and nature appreciation, and to contribute to a strong, healthy community. The Club offers free, guided hikes weekly with schedule posted on our website: http://www.sydenhambrucetrail.ca
