invasive plantsAn upcoming workshop will check out invasive plant species. Learn more about cultural considerations, identification, potential harm, eradication and management.

The workshop will discuss some of the controversial aspects of controlling invasive plant species. It will also include a walkabout on the property. Please bring appropriate footwear and clothing, a hat, sunglasses and umbrella.

Pre-event registration fee: $35
Registration with a cheque is required in advance of the day of the workshop. Please make cheques payable to Gary Kenny and mark the subject line “Invasive plant species workshop” and mail to Gary Kenny at the mailing address above. Funds collected will be used to cover workshop costs.

10:15 am: Invasive plant species in field and forest and on the farm
1:00 pm: LUNCH (bring your own – liquid refreshments and energy snacks will be provided)
2:00 pm: Invasive plant species in the home vegetable and flower garden

The presenter, Sean James is an award-winning horticulturalist, eco-landscaper and biodiversity expert. He has been gardening professionally since age 16. He is a graduate of the prestigious Niagara Parks School of Horticulture, a Master Gardener and was named one of "20 Canadians Making a Difference" in the Canada-wide magazine GardenMaking. His company, Sean James Consulting & Design, is firmly committed to putting expertise to use in urban and rural communities by educating on the use of native species and demonstrating the beauty of sustainable gardens and landscapes.
