Brita has teamed up with TerraCycle®, a leader in recycling hard-to-recycle waste, to collect and recycle all Brita products and packaging. Through TerraCycle’s Brita Recycling Program, you can send your used Brita pitchers, dispensers, bottles, faucet systems, filters and packaging to TerraCycle, where they will be given a second life.

 It’s easy, free, and serves as a fundraising opportunity for participants.

 How to Participate:

Create a TerraCycle account at www.terracycle.ca and join the free Brita Recycling Program.

Save your Brita pitchers, dispensers, bottles, faucet systems, filters and filter packaging, and place them into a box.
Download a pre-paid UPS shipping label from your TerraCycle account, which will be sent to your email. Print out your label and tape it securely onto your box.
Ship the box to TerraCycle by calling UPS at 1-800-742-5877 and scheduling a pick up for the next business day. You can also drop off your parcel at any UPS location.

For shipments weighing over 1 lb, you will receive 100 TerraCycle points per pound of waste. Each TerraCycle point is equivalent to $0.01, and TerraCycle points can be donated to any non-profit organization or school of your choice, including Brita’s charity partner, ME to WE. By donating your TerraCycle points to ME to WE, you can support global clean water projects and help provide clean water access to someone who needs it.

A Second Life for Brita® Filters - Brita has partnered with TerraCycle to collect and recycle used Brita water filters, products and packaging. This program allows consumers to collect their used water filters and ship them to TerraCycle to be recycled, for free! The collected filters will be processed and recycled into various new plastic products, such as playgrounds, outdoor furniture and industrial shipping pallets. The filter ingredients, including activated carbon, can be reactivated for use in filters again, or used as a black colorant in plastic products.
