Students at Alexandra Community School helped celebrate Earth Week by raising awareness about the importance of everyone taking action to save our planet. We emphasized how small acts can make a big difference when everyone works together.
We challenged our school to reduce garbage by 30 percent by bringing litter-less lunches. The garbage was weighed the week before and during Earth Week, and we exceeded this goal. We have a recycling program up and running. However, we know that the most important ‘R’ is REDUCE.
At the Home of the Eagles we know that little ‘GREEN’ moves like reducing packaging and waste have big consequences in terms of saving our planet. We ‘put our words into action’ during a community clean up when all of our students and staff worked in sections of our neighborhood to pick up garbage.
We are very proud of our staff and students for taking the job of saving our planet so seriously! We remind our Eagles that ‘Earth Day is everyday’.
