Local lawn bowlers are getting active.
The Owen Sound Roselawn Bowling Club participated in the two week ParticiPACTION Community Better Challenge.
Locally, the bowling club was the only Owen Sound organization that had registered in the program. From May 31st to June 16th Canadians across the country tracked 263,420,922 minutes of physical activity.
That’s like:
Being active every minute of every day for 501 years
Playing 53,540 NHL hockey seasons
Walking the Trans-Canada trail 1021 times
The top 30 finalists who have been invited to submit a bid to be crowned ‘Canada’s Most Active Community’ and the recipient of the $150,000 grand prize. Visit the community challenge website to see if your community is one of the finalists. The national and regional winners will be announced on June 27th.
There is an opportunity for the leaders of recreational sports and other physical activities within Owen Sound to take the ParticipACTION Community Challenge and inspire everyone in 2020 to get active and have a chance to win $150,000 for our community.
