Great SturgeonFor three weeks in October, Giche Namewikwedong Reconciliation Garden Projectat Kelso Park will be featured in the window of the Artists’ Co-op in Owen Sound. The display will comprise about 50 coloured drawings depicting the Great Sturgeon that lends her name to the waters and our project. These were coloured by school children at the One World Festival this past spring (see attached photo). A number of local “guest artists” have been invited to take part in this project, by colouring a Sturgeon drawing and allowing us to include their work in the window display.

The Artists’ Co-op has graciously provided a creative space for the invited guests, where the drawings and markers will be provided, and the energy will inspire. Guest colouring will take place on Sunday September 22nd between 10:00AM and 12:00 noon, or on Monday September 23rd, between 10:00AM and 12:00 noon. Guests don’t even have to stay within the lines! We will be inviting the press to attend each day to photograph guest artists. It could be the start of a whole new career.
