moreston by candlelightOn December 14 and 15, come to Moreston Heritage Village for an old fashioned Christmas! The museum and historic buildings will be open and dressed in seasonal decor. This event is a truly unique holiday experience for all ages and has become a well-loved annual tradition.

Our attendance for this event has been steadily increasing over the last five years, and in 2018 we were delighted to welcome nearly 2000 guests through our doors over two nights. We are once again offering advance ticket sales, which will allow us to more accurately predict attendance numbers for both nights, better accommodate our guests, and ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening.

This event features:

Free horse drawn sleigh rides around the village by Dual Acres
Village buildings open and staffed with costumed volunteers
Live Christmas music and sing-along carols with Sing! Show Chorus, St. Andrew's Choir, and Ruth & Chuck Merrill
Cookies and hot apple cider (new this year: guests are invited to bring a reusable mug for hot apple cider!)
Christmas photo props in the bandstand
Indoor galleries open for exploration and more!

Tickets can be purchased online or by stopping in at Grey Roots. While this event is free for Grey Roots Members, we are encouraging members to still let us know what night they plan on attending by RSVPing in person over the phone at 519-376-3690, or by email at [email protected] Reciprocal members from Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre; Huron County Museum & Historic Gaol; Simcoe County Museum; and the Region of Waterloo Museums are required to purchase tickets / pay admission fees on special event days.
