There's a special connection between tiny children and older adults – add music and magic happens.

Bring your little ones for a free “Jingle Jam” Monday December 16th and see the magic for yourself.

Kelda Mikalson is an activation assistant at a local long-term care home, and she knows the effect both music and children have on the well-being of her residents. Put them together and everyone is relaxed and smiling and nothing else matters at that moment.

The little ones bounce and dance, sing and clap as they do in every Music Together class. “Grandfriends” participate as they are able – some watch and enjoy, others accept musical instruments offered by their wee guests, or get up to dance.

The Music Together program was designed for infants to early-schoolers at Princeton University and enrolment in the program includes 8-10 weeks of intergenerational music classes, a beautifully illustrated Songbook, CD and digital song downloads. Kelda says expanding the class community to include “Grandfriends” has enriched the experience for families and "makes these classes some of the most satisfying to teach and attend." The program makes a lovely gift for a young family and doesn't take up closet space!

A free demo Generations class will be open to wee ones and families at Seasons on January 6 at 10:30am.

The Jingle Jam on Monday, December 16 is free and open to all families at Seasons, 16th Ave E, at 10:30 a.m.
