Throughout the month of June, every dollar you donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grey Bruce (BBBSGB) through, www.givingchallenge.ca, earns us a ballot and increases our chances to win $20,000! That would make a world of difference for our organization.

BBBSGB has been here for vulnerable youth for over 60 years in our communities through times of stability and times of challenge. Now, more than ever, at-risk children and families are facing increased anxiety, distress, fear, and worry. The need for mentoring does not stop during a pandemic and neither do we.

Like many other organizations, ours too is being hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Revenue streams are shrinking as all of our upcoming traditional fundraising and outreach events are being cancelled. We have shifted our service delivery model to create virtual online screening and matching for our Littles and Bigs to protect their health and safety, and that of our staff and volunteers.

BBBSGB will continue to do all we can to support the children and youth of this region. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all to make changes in how we work, how we communicate, how we live. It has however, not changed our desire to be a safety net for endangered youth.
