The suspicious male, police were attempting to identify, attended the Chatsworth Detachment earlier this evening, Monday, July 14th, and spoke with an officer.

door-regularMEAFORD – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspicious male, claiming to be an exchange (or college) student, who is looking for homes with small children allegedly for a project he is working on.

Between Friday, July 4th and Sunday, July 13th, 2014, police have received three similar reports from residents on the 8th Concession and the 12th Line in the Municipality of Meaford; as well as Sideroad 1 in the Township of Chatsworth.

opp-graphic-regularSOUTHGATE – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police laid several charges during the Holstein Rodeo event this past weekend. The 13th annual Holstein Rodeo was held from Thursday, July 10 to Sunday, July 13, 2014 in the Township of Southgate.

R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot checks were conducted at different locations, resulting in a total of 510 vehicles being checked. The following charges were laid in connection with this year's event:

wiarton-regularWIARTON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, on behalf of the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, said Monday that the federal government will invest in restoration and upgrade work at Wiarton Harbour.

The project involves partially demolishing the upper portion of a timber crib structure and covering it in armour stone, to create a rubble mound breakwater, Miller's office said in a news release.

Recent "breaches" have raised concerns about the breakwater and its ability to protect the infrastructure behind it, the MP's office said.
