opp-cuffs-regLUCKNOW – On January 2, 2015, a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Campbell Street in Lucknow recognized a man who was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. The man fought with police and managed to drive off in a White Oldsmobile. The vehicle was located and stopped in Perth County where the man was arrested without incident.

A 32-year-old resident of Huron-Kinloss Township has been charged with dangerous driving, drive while disqualified, assault peace officer, personation and two counts of breach probation.

coyote-regThe OPP would like to make residents, cottagers, hikers, cross country skiers and pedestrians aware that we do share our open spaces, bush areas and some residential neighborhoods with numerous members of the wildlife community.

One of those members is the coyote, which can be found in both rural and urban areas. Some key points for people who may encounter coyotes are as follows:

-Do not approach or feed coyotes.

phone-regSouth Bruce Peninsula – On December 31st, 2014, members of the Bruce Peninsula OPP were contacted about a harassing telephone call occurrence.

Investigation revealed that the accused, 65, of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, had placed 11 harassing calls on December 30th and an additional 38 calls on December 31st to the victim. The accused was verbally abusive to the victim and bound by a probation order to abstain from communicating with this person.

Bruce Peninsula OPP executed an arrest warrant at the accused's residence in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. She was arrested without incident.

TheSaginaw-regThe freighter The Saginaw appears to have run aground off Balmy Beach and was seen anchored there Thursday morning. Locals on Balmy Beach Road said they noticed the hulking ship there late Wednesday night. It's believed The Saginaw was at the Owen Sound grain elevators earlier in the day Wednesday.
