A 22 year old Owen Sound man was arrested after a citizen caught him rummaging through his truck which was parked in the 1000 block of 1st Avenue East.
Around 12:15 am on Friday May 12th, the citizen observed the male in his truck. The male had removed the contents of the various storage compartments inside the vehicle and concealed them in his pockets. Despite being unlocked, the owner discovered that his vehicle had been damaged. The owner of the truck took physical control of the man and called police.
An examination of the area by police found two other vehicles that had been damaged. A Dodge Caravan was found to have had its back windshield smashed out and a Nissan Maxima was found to have damage to its doors.
A search of the man found a small baggie of white powder believed to be methamphetamine. The man faces charges of mischief, theft, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court in June to answer to the charges.
