For the last several weeks, Owen Sound residents have been reporting misogynist, racist and homophobic graffiti in several locations in the city.

At 5:37pm Sunday June 26th Owen Sound Fire crews responded to the report of an explosion at 923 8th Ave West. Upon arrival at the 2 unit residential building, both units were on fire. Significant fire was present in the common roof area.
The fire was brought under control quickly.

Over a year ago, Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra attended an Owen Sound City Council meeting. In a deputation, he expressed the wish that a city founder emerge from the grave and take a flamethrower to Councillor John Tamming’s seat.
Mr. Tamming made a complaint to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and the disciplinary arm of that body investigated....
In order to offer support to the people of Ukraine fleeing the war, community leaders and organizations within Owen Sound and Grey County came together in this project to offer housing and other integration services. BIG thank you to Tim Simmonds, City Manager, Derek Christie, City Property Manager and the Council of the City of Owen Sound for supporting this initiative and helping us out. Chapman's leased the building from the city at no cost.
They are currently renovating a building that will become a new temporary home for Ukrainian families
