What 's happening at the former Sydenham School?

A regional skills training and innovation centre to support small businesses, including incubation, research / prototyping, skills and trades training is being developed in two phases.

The initial proposed users are the Small Business Enterprise Center, Catapult (a business accelerator), and the Community Futures Development Corporation.

Hot Desks, with internet and collaboration space and fabrication labs – small equipment labs in wood, metal, clean / technical and wet labs – for entrepreneurs and post-secondary training will be developed.

There will be more space for Georgian College, including Day Care / Childcare and the gym/flex space can be used for businesses and events.

The parking lot will be altered slightly, to make use of some of the former broad sidewalk space adjacent to the south side of the school without removing trees, and bicycle parking will be added.
