Bruce County’s Economic Development team was recognized with an Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) award for the creative marketing video: Bruce County Adventures - Coming Soon. Produced in partnership with Astrodog Media, the video was released in May 2020, targeting tourism audiences when travel was not recommended.
The video was a strong, sincere invitation to visitors to stay safe at home, for now, but consider Bruce County for future travel plans when it’s safe to do so. With an underlying positive tone during uncertain times, the video brought favourable awareness to Bruce County as a destination.
Bruce County won the EDAC award in the Promotional Video category, reserved for videos created to promote and/or reinforce business/tourism themes, opportunities, attractions, and/or services.
“We’re really proud to receive national recognition for the work we are doing in economic development,” says Bruce County Warden Janice Jackson. “Telling our tourism story, even during the pandemic, paid off for our tourism economy, and the video was a powerful tool to share our message.”
EDAC is Canada’s national organization of economic developers. EDAC’s Marketing Awards focus on highlighting up-and-coming best practices in marketing and community initiatives. The Marketing Awards judging panel is made up of a diverse group of individuals with marketing and promotion expertise.
