Blue Dolphin PoolThe Blue Dolphin Pool is getting ready to reopen this summer with some upgrades to the existing equipment.

Recreation staff successfully received $10,000 in funding from the Community Investment Program through Hydro One to replace the removable “easy-stairs” in the shallow end, which provide accessible and easy access into the pool.

Additionally, through the 2021 capital budget, Meaford Council has approved the replacement of the two lifeguard chairs that overlook the pool.

“These upgrades will help us improve accessibility and safety at one of Meaford’s favourite summer hangouts” said Recreation Services Coordinator Emma Smith. “It’s an investment in keeping youth and families active in our community”.

These upgrades are expected to be completed before the pool opens for the season on May 31st, provided public health restrictions permit it to operate. For more information about the Blue Dolphin Pool and the programs for the upcoming season, visit http://www.meaford.ca/pool
