Further to January’s announcement that The Women’s Centre Grey Bruce would be launching an anti-human trafficking program through the Ontario government’s Anti-Human Trafficking Community Support Fund, our new program, titled, Our Place, is launching today.
Our Place is aimed at supporting youth victims and survivors of human trafficking in our community. The program will partner with community agencies to provide wrap-around victim support and will include an educational component for school-aged children, in addition to counselling, outreach, and housing for youth with 24-hour staff supervision.
Grey Bruce residents are encouraged to learn the signs of trafficking and to encourage suspected victims to connect with our trained staff at 519-371-5818. For more information visit www.thewomenscentre.org/ourplace
The Women’s Centre Grey Bruce provides emergency shelter, compassionate counselling, 24/7 crisis support, safety planning, family court support and transitional housing to women and their children who are experiencing abuse and violence in Grey and Bruce counties.
