Anne Marie Watson has been acclaimed as the Liberal candidate for Bruce—Grey—Owen Sound in the next federal election, called for September 20.

Watson, a first time federal candidate, lives in West Grey, and is currently the Executive Director of the Durham Hospital Foundation.  She has been Manager of the Bluewater Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society, and Fund Development Co-ordinator of the Women's Centre, Grey-Bruce, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Watson has also volunteered as Past President and Director of the Grey County Federation Of Agriculture, and helped with the Durham Food Bank and Hanover Players.

Prime Minister Trudeau called the election on Sunday, and at that point only incumbent Alex Ruff had been nominated by his party.  The NDP and Green parties have yet to announce local candidates.
