Environment Canada's rainfall warning is expected to be in effect through to Thursday morning with anticipated rainfall amounts ranging from 50 to 75 mm with a few areas possibly reaching 100 mm. So far, our watersheds have received up to 50 mm but this is highly variable with some areas only receiving 10-15 mm. Our watersheds have done an excellent job absorbing most of this rainfall, but they are now saturated, and runoff is anticipated from the added moisture. Stream and river flows are expected to rise throughout the day but are not expected to cause unusual flooding. Flooding may occur in low lying areas that typically flood seasonally.

Grey Sauble Conservation Authority would like to remind everyone that during rainfall events, potential conditions exist that could pose a risk to personal safety. High flows, unsafe banks or other factors could be dangerous for recreational users such as anglers, canoeists, hikers, children, pets, etc. Stay back from riverbanks and away from fast moving water.

Grey Sauble staff will continue to monitor the weather and the flows and provide additional updates as needed.
