On November 27, 2021, at approximately 5 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Grey County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Inter Township Fire Department and the Chatsworth Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire on Girl Guide Road in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

One individual was removed from the residence and pronounced deceased on scene. Their identity is being withheld pending a next of kin notification.
Another resident, along with two police officers attended a local area hospital and were treated for smoke inhalation.

Later the same day, at approximately 10:50 p.m., the same services were called to a structure fire on the 10th Concession in the Municipality of Meaford.
Emergency crews arrived on scene and began battling a fully engulfed residential fire. One individual was removed from the residence and pronounced deceased on scene. Their identity is being withheld pending a next of kin notification.

Emergency crews remain on both scenes, and the investigation is continuing with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO) and the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM).
