Grey Bruce Public Health is reporting 40 confirmed new cases of Covid-19 today. The cases are spread over 14 municipalities, including 5 in Owen Sound. These cases involve over 1500 high-risk contacts, as assessed by Public Health.

Outbreaks (two or more cases) have been declared at 8 schools:

Timothy Christian School, St. Dominique Savio, St. Mary’s High School, Mildmay-Carrick Public School, John Diefenbaker Senior School, Saugeen District Secondary School, Grey Highlands Secondary School and Hepworth Central School and one childcare centre at Timothy Christian School.

Six schools are reporting dismissed cohorts (a single confirmed or suspected case, no outbreak).

Owen Sound District Secondary School (OSDSS), Peninsula Shores District School Macphail Memorial Elementary School, Dawnview Public School, Highpoint Community School, Kincardine District Senior School.

All the above information is from the Grey Bruce Health Unit as of December 18 at 23.59.

The Principal of OSDSS informed parents there December 18 at 4:26 that he had been “made aware of two more positive cases of COVID19 at OSDSS” but that “Due to the unique circumstances surrounding these cases, Grey Bruce Public Health has determined that there is no impact or risk to the school community.”  We are seeking clarification and will share it with our readers if it is provided.

Grey Bruce Public Health Vaccine clinics continue until Tuesday before taking a break until December 29.
