Wiarton-based Caframo is all abuzz about its recently launched video, highlighting one person’s experience of belonging to the “Caframily”. The video is part of an information campaign that explains the uniquely appealing culture and values at Caframo. The company is in a high growth mode and is actively recruiting.
“Caframo is really a great place to work,” said company president Tony Solecki. “We want to let people know what it means to be part of our Caframily.”
The Caframily is made up of all the team members who form the foundation of Caframo. “Without our amazing team, the company would not exist or thrive. When a new employee walks through the door on their first day, they immediately feel a part of the Caframily and that the company has their back. The Caframily is likable, compassionate, and just a fun group to be around” said Solecki.
The first video to launch in this campaign is with local resident, Jennifer Gartrell, who started as a production assembler and is now a Team Lead for Caframo. She explains how the company culture at Caframo allows for a work-life balance to pursue her beekeeping hobby. The campaign launched Friday, January 14th and has been a hit.
“Many of us spend as much time with our work families as our actual families,” said Solecki. “That’s why we wanted our employees to tell their story about why they love being part of the Caframily.”
This isn’t the first time Caframo is working to stand out. In September 2021, Solecki announced a wage increase of 13% for all employees, resulting in a starting wage of $20 per hour.
“Tony takes care of us. If he takes care of us, we take care of him,” said Jennifer Gartrell. “It (Caframo) is literally your home away from home. People are so awesome here, it’s just a good place to be.”
Caframo is listed as a “Best Workplace in Manufacturing” by the Great Place to Work Institute and is also a Certified Living Wage Employer. It currently employs 130 people and is actively seeking to fill 15 positions in production and other exciting roles.
