Community Foundation Grey Bruce invites charities and non-profit organizations across Grey and Bruce counties to submit grant applications for Spring Community Grants before April 15, 2022.
Projects must benefit the community in one of the following categories: health and wellness, arts and culture, education and lifelong learning, living standards and housing, the environment, and community connections; areas identified to create healthy communities in the Foundation’s Vital Signs® reports.
Eligible non-profits may request up to $5,000 to support their local projects. In spring 2021, 54 charitable organizations were granted over $164,000 for projects including community gardens, local festivals, and food security efforts. The Foundation also has a fall intake period for Community Grants that supported an additional 39 requests with over $126,000 in funds in 2021.
Considering the impacts of COVID-19, and with feedback from local charities and non-profits, in 2022 the Foundation will allow up to 25% of the grant request to address operational requirements and administration related to project delivery.
Organizations can access the online application form, assessment criteria and full Vital Signs reports on our website. It is advised that applicants confirm the eligibility of their project before beginning the application process by contacting Jennifer Isber-Legge, Grants Co-ordinator at the Foundation office at 519-371-7203.
Scholarships for students headed to or already enrolled in post secondary programs are also open now, and many applications can be accessed through our website. Education Endowments held by the Foundation distributed almost $40,000 to local students for their education in 2021. Most scholarship applications must be submitted by May 31, 2022.
