Starting this Monday January 31st, the Province of Ontario is easing public health measures. The Municipality will once again offer some in-person services with modifications to meet with provincial legislation. Here is an updated list of Municipal services and offerings.

  • Municipal Administration office at 21 Trowbridge Street West will be open to the public on January 31st, during regular business hours of8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

The front counter will be assisting quick transactions and inquiries such as: payments for property taxes, utilities, 2022 dog tags, garbage tags, parking tickets and enforcement fines, burn permits and other fees, and filing of planning and building applications.   • Additional options for paying bills and dropping off documents:
    • You can mail documents and cheques to: 21 Trowbridge Street West, Meaford ON N4L 1A1 or use the drop box located beside the front door at the Municipal Administration office.
    • Property tax and utility payments can be made via online banking, at your financial institution, by mailing a cheque or placing a cheque in the drop box at the Municipal Administration office. Payments are processed weekly. For more information click on Paying Taxes and Paying Utility Bills.
    • 2022 dog tags with the early bird fee (until March 31st) are available to be purchased online by filling out a Dog Tag Application Form and making a payment or by dropping off a completed application and payment in the drop box at the Municipal Administration office.For more information click here
    • Garbage tags can be purchased at a number of stores and vendors throughout the municipality. To find a vendor near you please click here.
    • Parking tickets and enforcement fines can be paid by mailing a cheque or placing a cheque in the drop box at the Municipal Administration office.
  •  The Meaford Moves+ accessible transit service is operating with safety protocols in place. Call 519-538-5577 or click here to book your next trip.

  • Meaford Hall will be open to the public on January 31st, during regular business hours ofMonday-Fridayfrom 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and maintaining a capacity limit of 50 per cent. Meeting rooms, art gallery and washrooms are available to the public. 
  • Meaford Museum will open to the public on Thursday February 3rd,during regular business hours ofThursday, Friday and Saturdayfrom 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  
  • The Meaford and St. Vincent Community Centre and Arena will be open to the public at 50 per cent capacity beginning on Monday January 31st, with in-person recreation programs, public skating, regular scheduled hockey games, stick and puck, and ice rentals. Capacity levels have been capped at 500 people until February 21st. In order to access the facility, proof of vaccination with QR code is mandatory as per the provincial regulations. There will be no food or drink permitted in the facility at this time. Masks must be worn at all times throughout the facility, unless participating in a sporting event.   • Operations Centre and Council Chambers office at 157859 7th Line will remain closed with in-person services available at the Municipal Administration office at 21 Trowbridge Street West. 
  • Meaford Public Library is open during regular service hours with a visitor capacity of 50 per cent. At this time in-house programming, meeting room bookings and the Tech Centre are not available to the public. 
  • The February 14th Council meeting will be held virtual. Starting February 21st, Council meetings are planned to be in-person. Meetings of Council Advisory Committees and Boards will be held virtual during the month of February. Members of the public can attend all meetings virtually. Meetings are live-streamed via the Municipality of Meaford’s YouTube channel at www.meaford.ca/youtube. All essential services continue under normal requirements, such as emergency services, by-law and enforcement, water and wastewater services, road maintenance, garbage, recycling, electronic recycling and Styrofoam recycling with safety protocols in place.

COVID safety measures are in place when visiting any of the Municipal buildings for public and Municipal staff safety. You are required to meet the following protocols:

  • Capacity is reduced to only 1 person or 1 family unit that may enter the front area of the Municipal Administration Office at a time. Line up outside using the sidewalk markers to ensure physical distancing.
  • Use the hand sanitizer provided when entering and leaving the building.
  • Wear a mask (exclusions accepted following provincial and Public Health requirements).
  • Pay with credit or debit card.
  • Proof of vaccination with QR code is mandatory as per the provincial regulations upon entry for attending any performance, recreation or sporting events (exclusions accepted following provincial and Public Health requirements).
