rollerblades

- Hub staff

A local woman is looking for the public's assistance after being injured in Harrison Park Monday afternoon.

Three women were walking through the park with their dogs when a fast-moving rollerblader being pulled by a black and white husky on a leash came up from behind.

Trying to get out of their way in time, one 81-year old woman fell and hit her head, breaking her new glasses.

All the women were stunned but thankful that onlookers came to help the dazed and bleeding woman.
Park staff assisted her out of the Mile Drive on a vehicle, and she was taken to hospital where she was treated and released six hours later. She is badly bruised with a possible concussion.

The man on the rollerblades tried to leave the situation, claiming the woman had been tripped by her own dog. When asked to provide contact information, he allegedly gave park staff working nearby a false name and number.

The incident was reported to the Owen Sound Police and the City's Manager of Parks and Open Spaces, Adam Parsons.

The women who regularly walk their dogs at Harrison Park say they have seen the rollerblader and his Siberian Husky in the park for years, but have not seen him since Monday. They are hoping that someone in the community will know him and encourage him to speak to the Police, or will provide his name to the Police. If you know this man but wish to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers.
