Members of the Municipality of Meaford Council and staff gathered today to raise a flag honouring National AccessAbility Week. National AccessAbility Week is an opportunity to celebrate persons with disabilities and to raise awareness about the need for accessibility and inclusion in our community and beyond.
“Each of us has a role to play in making our community more accessible and inclusive,” says Municipality of Meaford Councillor Harley Greenfield, who is Chair of the Municipality’s Accessibility Advisory Committee, “learning more is an important first step”.
Today’s flag raising was the first of several events taking place to mark this dedicated week. A full schedule of the week’s events is available on the Municipality’s website and social media.
