Check out military equipment, look at some classic cars and enjoy live entertainment and a barbecue at the Billy Bishop Heritage Fest this Saturday, June 18, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the Billy Bishop Museum.
This free, all ages event that also includes admission to the museum where you can see the newest exhibit Ground Truth: Stories of Canada’s War in Afghanistan.
The Silver River Band will be performing throughout the afternoon; members of the Grey & Simcoe Foresters will be there with some of their equipment; and the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada-Bluewater Region will be showing off their prized possessions.
If you’re hungry, the barbecue will be going all afternoon with food available for $5 per person. There will be hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, beverages donated by the Pepsi Bottling Group-Owen Sound, and delicious ice cream generously donated by Chapman’s Ice Cream.
Third Avenue West between 10th and 9th Street will be closed to vehicles but there is plenty of parking nearby.
