Neighbours on Queen Street in Hepworth are used to high speed traffic past their doors. Last night was no different.
A crash about 10 p.m. sent them to their phones to call 911. Airbags and seatbelts appear to have saved lives as there were no fatalities in the five-vehicle crash.
Emergency Services were on the scene, but no official media release has been issued about the cause of the crash or whether impaired driving was a factor.
A large number of OPP had been deployed to an event described as "Freedom Beach Day" at Sauble Beach in the afternoon and evening.
A neighbour who was concerned about the glass and debris in front of his home was told that this was not a municipal Public Works issue, but an MTO (Ministry of Transport) responsibility. A heads up - avoiding that debris as you drive on that road is your responsibility, as you have care and control of your vehicle.
