Friday August 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. was the deadline to file the necessary papers, declarations and fees to become a candidate for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor and School Board Trustee in the upcoming Municipal and School Board Election.

The official list of certified candidates is now available on www.meafordvotes.ca and is posted at the Administration Office, 21 Trowbridge Street West, Meaford.

Shirley Keaveney was the only person to file the necessary papers to become Deputy Mayor for the 2022 to 2026 term of Council. This means that Ms. Keaveney has been acclaimed to the role of Deputy Mayor, a position she has held since 2018. In addition, Frances Morgan has been acclaimed to the position of Bluewater District School Board Trustee for The Blue Mountains and Meaford.

The Municipality will be voting in-person or by mail. If you would like to register to vote by mail, please complete the application form available at www.meafordvotes.ca before Thursday, September 15, 2022. If you have questions about vote by mail, please email [email protected] or call 519-538-1060 extension 1100.

Voters will also be able to cast their ballots in-person on voting day, Monday October 24, 2022. Advanced polls will also be available.
