The 2023 construction season is here and Grey County is making a number of investments into county roads through construction and resurfacing, bridge rehabilitation and surface repairs.
Planned Projects include:
Grey Road 2 between Grey Road 31 and Grey Road 19 – Work is scheduled from June 19 to July 21 and will include an overlay and granular shoulder replacement. This project will include alternating lane closures with traffic control.
Grey Road 7 between Grey Road 40 and Sideroad 4, and from 2.8km north of Grey Road 13 to Sideroad 22 – Work is scheduled from May 15 to August 25 for reconstruction. This project will include periodic closures and barricaded and impassable sections of the road, as well as alternating lane closures. Detours will be signed prior to construction. Non-local traffic is asked to avoid the construction area during the project.
Grey Road 18 between Grey Road 11 and Grey Road 29 – Work is scheduled from May 15 to August 25 for reconstruction. This project will include periodic closures and barricaded and impassable sections of the road, as well as alternating lane closures. Detours will be signed prior to construction. Non-local traffic is asked to avoid the construction area during the project.
Grey Road 19 between Grey Road 2 and The Blue Mountains-Clearview Townline – Work is scheduled from June 19 to July 21 and will include an overlay and shoulder replacement. This project will include alternating lane closures with traffic control.
Grey Road 7 between Highway 26 and Muir Street in Meaford– Work will take place between mid-June to early September (dates are being determined and will be shared when they are known) and will include reconstruction, shoulder paving, and storm sewer and watermain infrastructure. This project will include a full road closure from July to September. Detours will be posted along Muir Street and Highway 26.
Grey Road 28 between 14th Street North to the Saugeen River Bridge in Hanover – Work will take place throughout the summer (dates are being determined and will be shared when they are known) and will include reconstruction, paved shoulders, and sidewalk installation, and storm sewer and watermain infrastructure. This project will include a full road closure. Detours will be posted on Grey Road 10 (west side) and Grey Road 3 (east side).
Planned construction timelines are a best estimate. Projects may be impacted by weather conditions and other delays.
Be sure to plan your routes and allow yourself extra time to safely reach your destination if traveling through a planned construction zone. Always pay attention to signage and be extra cautious in areas of active construction when workers are present.
