Locally organized, but national in scope, climate activists across the country are hosting a All In For A Bold Emissions Cap protest at their local federal members' riding offices.
David Walton, of the Owen Sound Climate Action Team, has issued an invitation to join him at MP Alex Ruff's Owen Sound office Thursday, May 25, at noon:

Owen Sound residents are joining in a nation wide demonstration on Thursday, May 25, calling for a bold emissions cap.
Canada’s climate goals are at risk without a strong emissions cap. Oil and gas emissions are the biggest and fastest growing sources of carbon pollution in Canada so we are calling for a rigorous cap on emissions. The federal government is working on draft regulations for an oil and gas emissions cap to possibly be released in June.
Thursday’s demonstration, All In For A Bold Emissions Cap will highlight that Canadians support a strong emissions cap in order for Canada to meet its climate goals. There are over 20 rallies planned from coast to coast to coast.
When: Thursday May 25, from noon to 1:00 p.m.
Where: MP Alex Ruff’s constituency office, 1101 2nd Ave. E., Owen Sound
A 2022 poll shows that seven out of 10 Canadians support an emissions cap, and over 100,000 have called elected officials, signed petitions and sent postcards to show that Canadians want a strong emissions cap. It is time for the government to listen to the people and not the oil and gas industry.
“Climate change is real and we are seeing it on a daily basis with wildfires in Alberta and Saskatchewan, floods in BC and other disastrous weather events all over the world. The oil and gas sector needs to do its part to reduce emissions as we all work towards a low carbon liveable future."
