Currently there is NOT an open-air fire ban in place in Grey County.
The fire hazard rating throughout the province is high to extreme.
The Grey County Fire Chiefs are monitoring / evaluating conditions daily.
At this time, we would ask anyone considering an open-air fire / campfire to be extremely cautious and ensure they are following local municipal by-laws / regulations such as:
- Have a permit (if required)
- Having means to extinguish on hand.
- Never leave a fire unattended
- Completing extinguish fire when finished.
Please, contact your local Grey County Fire Department for more information.
