On February 9, 2016 the Owen Sound Police Service investigated a number of thefts form motor vehicles which had occurred over night. These thefts appear to have been concentrated in the south west quadrant of the city although thefts likethese have been occurring in every area of the city. In some cases car owners  had items of substantial value taken in the theft.

The Owen Sound Police would like to remind the public to lock their car doors and not to keep any valuables in their vehicles. This crime in most cases is one of opportunity, when the suspects find a vehicle that is

locked they move on until they locate one that is unlocked. If valuables are left in plain sight the suspects may be more brazen and damage the vehicle to gain entry.

Should citizens observe suspicious persons or activity in their neighbourhood they are requested to contact the Owen Sound police Service.

Please remember to LOCK it or LOSE it!
