300px-NanyangCommercialBank WesternBranch JuntungWuOn April 8, 2016 the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a scam from a local resident. The resident received a letter in the mail advising them of a long lost relative who died in a car collision, in Mainland China. The long lost relative had invested over 8 million dollars which had been incurring interesting, now totalling approximately 10 million dollars. A Simon Chang Lee from Nanyang CommercialBank in Hong Kong had finally located a relative to deliver the large sum of money. There were two stipulations; the local resident was not to betray his trust by telling anyone of the letter and they could split the large sum of money.

The Bruce Peninsula OPP encourages citizens to continue talking to family and friends to spread the word and protect scamlettereach other from the various scams. The persons behind these scams will continue to change and evolve their attempts to trick people. They want you to hand over your money, using high pressure tactics and lies.
