As previously communicated, the recently established Owen Sound Naming Committee is reaching out to the public for input in naming the newly combined secondary school that current Owen Sound Collegiate and Vocational Institute (OSCVI) and West Hill Secondary School (WHSS) students and staff will attend in September 2016.
The Naming Committee, which includes student, staff, trustee and community representation from both schools, is seeking name submissions until Tuesday, May 31, 2016 through any of the various communications methods listed below:
Online at this SurveyMonkey link, which has been posted to the websites of all Owen Sound area elementary schools, WHSS, OSCVI and Bluewater District School Board:
Community suggestion boxes at these Owen Sound locations: Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, YMCA/Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre reception area, OSCVI and WHSS main school offices
By phoning either WHSS or OSCVI and calling extension 300
Social media on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag, #OSnameyourschool
Each submission should include a suggested school name along with supporting rationale for that name
