Appointment of Superintendent of Education
Chesley, ON – Bluewater District School Board is pleased to announce that Wendy Kolohon has been appointed to the position of Superintendent of Education pending confirmation by the Ministry of Education, effective September 1, 2016.
The appointment follows the retirement of Superintendent of Education Jean Stephenson after 26 years with Bluewater District School Board.
Wendy brings with her over 26 years of teaching and leadership experience in Bluewater District School Board. Most recently Wendy has been in the position of Learning Services Administrator, supporting the board’s special education, safe and accepting schools, and mental health programs and services. Throughout her career, Wendy has consistently demonstrated effective practices to improve student achievement and well-being. She also holds a Master of Education degree, specializing in teaching, learning and development from Brock University.
As Superintendent of Education, Wendy’s responsibilities will include an area of schools in addition to a portfolio with a number of system responsibilities.
