Eat Local Grey Bruce is an online farmersʼ market cooperative of more than 20 local farmers who offer a broad range of locally-produced foodstuffs: frozen meat, fresh produce, yogurt and kefir, ice cream, and a wide range of dry goods. Eat Local complements the offerings with organic dry goods from out of province when they are not available locally. Everything sold in the store is produced ecologically responsibly and healthy, and the co-op strives to offer prices that are fair and affordable. As a customer, your order remains very flexible and no regular orders are necessary. More information is available at www.eatlocalgreybruce.ca/.
We deliver member orders throughout the Grey and Bruce area. Once collected and packed each week at the Owen Sound warehouse, orders are delivered to a pick-up location near you. Home delivery is available in the areas of Owen Sound, Port Elgin, Southampton, and Kincardine.
Through practice runs over the last few weeks, our new staff worked hard to make the system come to life. The cooperative is now ready to take on new members to serve an expanded customer base. Sign up and use our online store at www.eatlocalgreybruce.ca.
The seed funding Eat Local Grey Bruce needed to for the start-up phase was generated by the support and enthusiasm of the local community through pre-sold memberships, bonds and donations of needed supplies. Producer members gave incredible in-kind support by helping to set up the warehouse, and the now-dissolved Grey-Bruce Chefʼs Forum contributed muchneeded refrigeration. Finally, signing up as a new member for an affordable annual fee is a vital part of getting through the start-up phase of Eat Local Grey Bruce - so please consider joining now, and ordering online. This way, consumers get healthy food conveniently, revitalize our local rural economy with diversified farmers, and foster biodiverse landscapes.
