attack-fullAfter two successful days of Rookie Camp, Training Camp for the 2016/2017 Owen Sound Attack is officially underway. Nineteen players made their way out of Monday and Tuesday's Rookie Camp, including 2016 1st Round Pick Aidan Dudas and 2016 1st Round Import Pick Maksim Sushko.

There is a total of 40 players, making up two teams that will be put through off-ice, on-ice and fitness testing sessions over the next three days, with numbers expected to be cut down on Friday evening.

"With where our current roster is at and where our prospect pool currently sits, this may be one of the most competitive Training Camps that I can remember during my time here.", said Dale DeGray. "This is likely the deepest and most skilled Training Camp roster we have ever had and you need skill in the game today, so we're definitely excited."

The Attack have four goaltenders in camp, including newly acquired netminder Bradley Van Schubert who was acquired from the Guelph Storm earlier this summer. Also in camp is 2016 draftee Josh Graziano and 2015 draftee Riley Daniels, along with veteran Michael McNiven, who will be heading to Montreal Canadiens camp the second week of September.

Five overage players also occupy training camp spots. Returnees Thomas Schemitsch, Jaden Lindo, Justin Brack and Captain Santino Centorame return from last year's team, while newly acquired forward Matt Schmalz joins the fray.

Training Camp is open to the public and the complete on-ice schedule and roster is attached.

The Attack is home this weekend on Sunday and Monday afternoon when they host the Barrie Colts and Oshawa Generals. Game time for both games is 2:00pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and seniors and $5 for fans 18 and under.

Tickets can be purchased at the Rob MacVicar/Shannon McComb Remax Box Office at the Bayshore.
