On September 2, 2016 at approximately 8:41 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a serious collision between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on Hwy. 26 at the 7th Line in the Municipality of Meaford. Initial investigation reveals that the motorcycle was travelling eastbound on Hwy. 26 when the passenger vehicle, which was westbound, collided with the motorcycle as it attempted to make a left turn (south) onto the 7th Line.
The motorcycle rider was transported to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigative Unit (TTCI) is assisting with the investigation which is in its early stages.
Hwy. 26 is closed between Grey Rd. 112 and Ridge Rd. until further notice.
Grey County EMS and the Meaford Fire Department assisted at the scene.
