On September 19, 2016 at approximately 2:00 p.m. the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a missing kayak operator in the waters of Lake Huron between Chantry Island and the Saugeen Shores beach.

Sixty-year-old David COUNSELL of Saugeen Shores was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt.

OPP Helicopter, South Bruce OPP Marine unit, Saugeen Shores Police Service, Saugeen Shores Fire Department and Canadian Coast Guard are all assisting with the search.
