On Saturday, November 26th volunteers from Van Dolder's Home Team were on the construction site of Chapman House to install 83 windows, 9 patio doors and three main doors at the future home of residential hospice care in Grey Bruce.  In addition to the volunteer's time, the windows and doors were as all donated by the local firm. "You could sense the excitement around town at what was happening at Chapman House. It was a busy, active day and the Home Team did an amazing job," said Hospice Executive Director Scott Lovell.

Chapman House is substantially  "shelled in" for the winter and work can continue on the interior when the snow comes.

"One of our goals was to get the project to the point where we would not be delayed by the weather," said Hospice Board Chair Rob Cordell. "What Andy Van Dolder and his team have done has helped us get to this important point in the project. It's still full steam ahead for us "

The installation of doors and windows at Chapman House completed a week that also saw Grey County Council approve a $200,000 contribution to the Hospice, celebrated donations of $20,000 from Scotia Bank and $3,000 from Bluewater Feed Co. The Hospice will also be receiving the proceeds from the weekend's Holiday Tour of Homes. Combined, this puts the total raised for the construction project at $3.3 million – leaving only $700,000 left to be raised.

"Weeks like this are incredibly important to us," said Scott. "There is a real sense of progress and excitement about how far we have come in constructing Chapman House. We still have some hard work ahead of us to raise the remaining $700,000 – but its clear from what we are hearing in the community that the support is there."
