As our readers know, the Owen Sound Hub's practice is to publish only those police reports that require action on the part of the public.  That includes reporting information, watching for missing or wanted people or stolen property, and being aware of habits that may put your own or others' safety at risk. This story alludes to all of the above. The first stolen vehicle was unlocked and had gifts in it - no word on whether those were recoverered, but watch Facebook and Kijiji sales for items reported stolen.  Here's the police release:

In the early morning hours of Friday December 16, 2016 a 2016 Dodge Caravan was stolen from  a residence in Owen Sound. That vehicle was located in the early morning hours of December 17, 2016 in the town of Meaford by the Ontario Provincial Police. The vehicle had been abandoned after becoming stuck in the ditch. The responsible parties then stole a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche from a Meaford Residence.

At approximately 6:30pm on December 17, 2016 the Owen Sound Police Service located the stolen Avalanche in the 200 block of 8 th Street East Owen Sound. A short time later Police arrested 4 persons in relation to the stolen vehicles.

 21 year old Owen Sound male charged: 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, 1 count of theft over $5000, 7 counts of drive disqualified and 3 counts of breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

 19 year old Owen Sound female charged: 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. She was released with a January court date.

 17 year old Owen Sound male charged: 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, 1 count of breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
