no solicitingBruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police is urging residents to be skeptical of unsolicited salespeople coming to you with a product or a service for a cost that is too good to be true.
This warning comes after Bruce Peninsula OPP received two separate reports of a male offering to sell them bale wrap (used by farmers) at a discount rate; in fact, less than ½ of the price. The individuals were told that they had to pay for the bale wrap, in cash, up front; with the assurance that they would receive the product in the Spring.

Beware of pressure sales tactics. Don't sign anything on the spot and don't give anyone any personal/financial information that you don't know or trust – this includes cash deals.

You don't have to deal with a salesperson, or let a salesperson inside your residence. If you tell anyone to leave your property, they must comply. If they don't; call police. Those interested in the product or service being offered should ask to see photo I.D. Write down the name of the salesperson and the business details, if applicable.

Remember - "if it's too good to be true....it probably is"!
