CIBC-campaign-donation-fullJuly 15, 2014: Today, CIBC announced a $50,000 donation to The Hospital Campaign. The gift is designated for improvements to cancer care at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital.
Investment Advisor Mary Petsopoulos, from CIBC Wood Gundy's Bay Street (Toronto) branch travelled to Owen Sound to make the announcement. "CIBC is very pleased to announce this gift for the Hospital Campaign. We know it's going to make a difference for patients from all over Bruce and Grey", she said. The Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation has enjoyed a 15 year banking relationship with Ms. Petsopoulos
and her partner Karl Kainz.
The Hospital Campaign is an $11.4 million fundraising effort to support cancer and heart care at GBHS hospitals, including the creation of a new cancer care unit in Owen Sound. The new unit will be approximately 40 percent larger, offering more privacy for patients, two larger chemotherapy treatment areas, doctors' offices, spacious waiting areas and a dedicated pharmacy for preparing oncology medications - all on the 5th
floor of the hospital.
The Campaign is also raising funds to upgrade Operating Rooms at five hospitals, purchase a new CT scanner and interventional radiology suite and expand the Laboratory and Emergency Room at the Southampton Hospital and more.
