Interest in the April 5 CANWARN Storm Spotter training is growing and Grey County is now encouraging interested participants to pre-register to guarantee a seat at the event. Only 75 spaces are available.
"We're thrilled to learn so many local weather watchers are eager to participate in the session. Unfortunately, space is limited to 75 seats," said Rob Hatten, Communications Manager with Grey County. "We don't want anyone to show up on April 5 and be disappointed so we're now registering participants in advance."
Anyone interested in attending can register online (link is external) through a link on Grey.ca or call Heddy Swigger at 519-372-0219 ext. 1814.
If you've already spoken with Geoff Coulson or someone from Grey County you should have received a confirmation email from Eventbrite. If you have not received this email, please contact Grey County.
CANWARN Storm Spotter volunteers provide valuable, real-time, on-the-ground information to Environment Canada during severe weather. Grey County is hosting a training session on Wednesday, April 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Grey County Administration Building in Owen Sound.
"If the training is well-attended and successful we will certainly consider hosting another session in 2018," said Hatten.
