opp-crash-fullOn March 16, 2017 at 7:21 p.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a serious 2 vehicle crash along Highway 6 in the town of South Bruce Peninsula. Officers arrived with members of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department and Bruce County EMS to find an Orange Hyundai and a Red GMC Sierra pick-up truck involved in the crash.

One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene, their name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

The other driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit assisted the Bruce Peninsula OPP with this collision.

Highway 6 was temporarily closed between Springcreek Road and Sheppard Lake Road for the protection of emergency responders.

The investigation is in its early stages.
